Regional Mutual Aid and Charity Association of Sfax

The vision of the Regional Mutual Aid and Charity Association of Sfax is to build a more supportive, equitable, and humane society, where every vulnerable individual can live with dignity and benefit from sustainable social support.

Its mission is to support underprivileged families, orphans, elderly people, patients, and vulnerable groups through assistance, solidarity, social education, and human development initiatives.

Within this framework, the association manages the Zakat Fund program. This fund collects financial resources and goods subject to Zakat in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles, while allowing donors to benefit from tax deductions.

Through this program, the association organizes solidarity campaigns and support initiatives for families and individuals in need during Eid holidays, Ramadan, the back-to-school season, and throughout the year.

Its interventions include the distribution of food supplies, clothing, medication, and various social aids. It also supports selected beneficiaries in setting up income-generating micro-projects, such as the preparation and sale of traditional Tabouna bread.

These aids are granted after applications are received, reviewed, and approved by the association’s steering committee.

The association also owns the Sfax Elderly Protection Center, currently closed for renovation works, which is dedicated to housing and caring for neglected, abandoned, or homeless elderly people.

In addition, it manages 19 pre-school centers that provide an adapted educational and social environment for orphaned children or children from modest and low-income families.

The association’s core values are solidarity, transparency, respect for human dignity, volunteering, civic engagement, and social justice.
